April 10, 2025 ・ Concord, NH
The New Hampshire Group II Retirement Coalition is pleased to announce that on April 10, 2025, the New Hampshire House of Representatives passed HB1 and HB2 — the State Budget and its accompanying legislation — which includes dedicated funding for Group II Retirement restoration.
Governor Kelly Ayotte’s proposed budget recognizes the importance of addressing past retirement injustices impacting New Hampshire’s police, fire, corrections officers, and other Group II members. With the passage of HB1 and HB2 by the House, this funding measure moves one step closer to becoming a reality.
“We are grateful to the members of the New Hampshire House who stood with us and voted to support the inclusion of Group II Retirement funding in the state budget,” said Seifu Ragassa, President of the Group II Retirement Coalition. “This is a critical step in honoring the commitment made to our first responders and ensuring fairness for those who have served our communities with distinction.”
The Coalition extends sincere thanks to its membership for their continued engagement — contacting representatives, testifying at hearings, and making their voices heard. This victory belongs to all of you.
The budget process now moves to the New Hampshire Senate, where the Coalition will continue its efforts to protect this funding through final passage.
